We work hand in hand with Manatee County Animal Services to enrich the lives of the shelter animals by raising funds to provide additional resources, medical care, and heartworm treatment.

Programs

Friends of Manatee County Animal Services (FoMCAS) is an all-volunteer fundraising charitable 501(c)(3) whose goal is to enrich the lives of the Manatee County shelter animals. FoMCAS has established several campaigns through which supporters can help: The Heal My Heart Campaign in which supporters can donate to fund heartworm treatment, support our Grace & Friends Medical Fund, which enables treatment of emergency medical situations and our Slumber Fund which gets dogs off the concrete and up on a comfortable bed.

Heal My Heart

“Heal my Heart” is a fundraising program to ensure all dogs who come into Manatee County Animal Services who test positive for heartworm disease are able to receive treatment. Heartworm disease is a serious illness that is easily prevented. Up to 1/3 of Manatee County shelter dogs have heartworm disease and YOUR generous donation will help pay for treatment for these dogs.

Grace & Friends Medical Fund

A primary element to our mission is to finance medical care for dogs and cats with serious, yet treatable health issues that will improve their chances of being adopted into fur-ever homes.

Slumber Fund

As part of our enrichment program, we believe every dog in the shelter deserves to have a bed available for them to lay on and get them off the concrete floor. Please consider a donation to our "Slumber Fund". Our homeless pets deserve a soft place to lay while they wait for their forever homes.                               

Traveling Paws Fund

Northern states, which often have shortages of adoptable dogs, have residents eager to take in dogs from the South. Friends of Manatee County Animal Services is partnering with Manatee County Animal Services, rescues and volunteers to send adoptable pups up north for a chance of a new life. Your donations will fund the transport costs to make sure they get to their destination safely.

Food for Ferals Fund

Our Food for Ferals Fund supports the feeding, care, and purchase of supplies for community cats in Manatee County.  FoMCAS will work with Manatee County Animal Services and colony caregivers to provide food and supplies for feral feline colonies throughout the county.
